DJ Greg G. has been a mobile DJ For over 25 years. This Bed-Stuy Brooklyn, NY native started out as a hip hop DJ and MC ( as they used to call rappers back in the day).  When he first decided to become a DJ his father was totally against the idea.  He told Greg and his older brother, Lance, not to buy any DJ equipment. Greg and Lance didn't listen. They took their summer job money and brought the equipment anyway. After school and on weekends, they would pack their records into their book bags and practice mixing at their grandparents' house where they'd hid their turntables for about a year.  When they finally brought the equipment home, their dad was mad as hell; however, after hearing Greg mix, he asked him to make a tape.  

Playing Hip Hop came to an end in 1981 when Greg went to Club Zanzibar.  He developed his musical taste listening to the legendary Zanzibar DJ, Tony Humphries (who's also from Brooklyn) . "Tony always plays something soulful" he'd say. From then on, Greg decided that no matter what type of music he played, it would have some soul.  House music became his passion; but, being a mobile jock in New York, he found it difficult getting gigs playing strictly house music.  So he started playing the dance music that makes up the sound of New York.  Old School, Hip Hop, R&B, Classic Soul, Dancehall, Soca music and some House.  Greg developed what he calls "G Funk" time. It's the part of the party where he plays the songs that keeps the floor packed with people yelling, screaming, dancing and singing until they can't take it anymore.

From Clubs to Catering Halls and back in the day house and block parties, DJ Greg G. has done it all. For a short time in the early nineties, Greg was a radio air personality on 107.5 WBLS in New York City along side veterans Charlie Berger and Sergio Dean. Besides being a DJ, Greg's greatest talent is his razor sharp wit and ability to impersonate numerous people.  He always dreamed of becoming a radio DJ not a mobile DJ; but, he has no regrets.
